Hemi-epiphyte, sparsely branched. Leaves dark green above, medium green below. Petiole and petiolules medium green suffused purplish aove. Ligules medium-light green, persistent. Primary inflorescence axis 3 cm long, with 7-10 secondary inflorescence axes. Fruits white suffused reddish pink at apex. Calyx rim maroon. Styles white to reddish-pink. Post-receptive stigmas nearly black. This is the same species as Neill 18180.

Common herb with erect or ascending stems, growing on rock outcrops and among grasses. Very variable in height from a few - ca 30 cm, more-or-less purple to red-brown tinged. Whole plant softly hairy, aromatic. Leaves sometimes with red-brown botches, overwise pale yellow-green. Calyx purple to red-brown, with yellow gland dots. Corolla and filaments white to mauve, corolla with yellow gland dots; anthers grey-blue.
